PlusPanel vs Enhance
Enhance is a multi-server website and customer automation platform for web hosting companies and web agencies. It is installed on the licence holder's own cloud or physical servers and is not a SaaS product.1 Both are multi-server platforms with per-site containers. The differences are in who runs the control plane, who maintains the OS, and which ports are open.

PlusPanel: A control plane in our EU cloud commands a minimal agent on each server. The server exposes no management port: the agent connects outbound over mTLS inside WireGuard and runs only typed, signed, expiring commands.

Enhance
- Cluster model
- A single Enhance control panel server can manage hundreds of servers, each providing any combination of the Application, Email, Database, Backup and DNS roles.1
- Adding servers
- Servers are added to the cluster with a single command generated by the panel and inherit the global configuration.8
- Inter-server traffic
- All servers in the cluster should allow port 50000 from the control panel server and from each other for internal RPCs, and ports 50003 and 50004 from the control panel server for the file management service.2
- Role ports
- Application role: 80, 443, 22, 21 and 30000-31000 (passive FTP); Database role: 3306; Email role: 25, 110, 143, 465, 587, 993, 995 plus 80/443 for webmail; DNS role: 53 UDP/TCP; Backup role: 22.2
- Install requirements
- Blank full VM or bare metal server, minimum 2 GB RAM, 20 GB disk, 2 CPU cores, Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, x86_64; ARM, containerised and paravirtualised environments (e.g. LXD, Virtuozzo) are not supported.6
- Install method
- Installed as root with a single command that runs a script from install.enhance.com and installs packages with apt; setup is completed in the browser (port 2087).6
- Website isolation
- Each PHP process, user-level SSH session and cron job runs within the site's isolated namespace, subject to the resource limits of its hosting package.5
- Inter-server encryption
- The vendor states that all inter-server communication is encrypted by default.1
- Stack
- Databases: MySQL, MariaDB or PostgreSQL, combinable within a cluster; the DNS role uses PowerDNS, with optional automatic Cloudflare synchronisation.9
- Email role
- The Email role provides Dovecot (POP/IMAP), Postfix (SMTP) and rspamd (spam filtering); websites send PHP mail() through a sendmail drop-in using a hidden mailbox.10
- Billing rules
- Tiers: USD 0.15 (1-5,000 sites), USD 0.10 (5,001-25,000), USD 0.075 (25,001-100,000) per website per month; addon/alias/sub domains, staging and soft-deleted websites are not billed.3
- Implementation
- The Enhance frontend is built with React and TypeScript; the backend uses Rust.1
- .NET / MSSQL
- Microsoft technologies such as .NET Core and SQL Server are not supported.1
PlusPanel
- One control plane, run by us in the EU (Enterprise: self-hosted on request)
- A minimal agent per server; it opens one outbound mTLS connection inside WireGuard
- No inbound management or RPC port on any server
- Typed, Ed25519-signed, expiring commands; no remote shell

Questions
Enhance also has a central panel and containers. What is actually different?
Three things, checked against Enhance's documentation above. The OS: PlusPanel OS is an immutable signed image that we maintain; Enhance runs on Ubuntu 24.04 that the operator installs and maintains. The network: PlusPanel servers expose no management port; Enhance servers accept RPC on port 50000 and file management on 50003–50004 from the panel server. Hosting: our control plane is a service we run in the EU; Enhance's is installed on your own infrastructure, which some teams prefer.
Enhance is available today. Is PlusPanel?
Not yet for production. Every PlusPanel feature carries its status (LIVE, GA or ROADMAP), and GA is the production release. If you need a multi-server platform in production now, that is a reason to choose Enhance today.
Can I run the PlusPanel control plane myself?
On Enterprise, yes. Free and Pro use our control plane, hosted in the EU.
