Billing and editions

This page explains how billing behaves. The amounts themselves are on the pricing page, the one place where we publish them. Every price is excluding VAT.

Self-service sign-up and billing open with the public launch. Until then, this page describes how they will work, and the waitlist on the home page is the way in.

Edition For Billed
Free one server, forever, with a limit on domains and mailboxes never
Pro unlimited servers, accounts and domains; white-label; more backup storage and mail relay per server, monthly or yearly
Enterprise fleets, resellers, an SLA, assisted migration, Premium storage, a self-hosted control plane by contract

The full comparison is on the pricing page. Every organization starts on Free.

What counts as a server: each enrolled server of the organization that is not revoked, at least one. Adding a server raises the subscription’s quantity right away (you pay the rest of the period, prorated); removing one lowers it, with a prorated credit.

Payments go through Stripe: you enter your card on Stripe’s own pages, and PlusPanel never sees or stores card data. From the panel’s Billing page you can:

  • choose Pro (monthly or yearly) and any packages, then pay in Stripe Checkout;
  • change the plan or the packages later; the difference is prorated;
  • open the Stripe customer portal to change the card, the billing details or download invoices.

Invoices are issued by Stripe, with sequential numbers and the VAT treatment below, and are mirrored in the panel.

The first 100 paying organizations get the founding price per server, locked for life, on every server the organization has now or adds later, as long as its subscription stays active without interruption. The seats are counted per paying organization, never per server, and the counter on the pricing page is live. When the 100 seats are taken, new subscriptions pay the normal Pro price.

A seat is released, and the founding price ends, when the organization falls back to Free: the subscription is cancelled and its period ends, the grace period after a failed payment runs out, or the first subscription is refunded. A later subscription pays the price of that day.

Packages are added to a paid subscription (Pro or Enterprise):

  • Backup storage: +100 GB, +250 GB, +500 GB or +1 TB on top of the storage your edition includes, in Standard (one copy on EU object storage) or Premium (a geo-redundant second copy).
  • Mail relay: steps of extra messages per day on your servers’ sending quota.

Packages are not refunded once they are in use.

You are VAT on the invoice
in Romania (company or person) Romanian VAT
a company in another EU country, VAT ID valid in VIES none: reverse charge
a consumer in another EU country the VAT rate of your country (EU One-Stop Shop, OSS)
outside the EU no EU VAT

A VAT ID is checked against VIES when you save your billing details. If VIES is unavailable, the ID is saved as pending and you are invoiced as a consumer until it is verified.

Nothing stops. Stripe retries the payment, and your organization keeps its edition and packages for a grace period of 14 days from the first failed payment. Administrators see a banner with the days left. After the grace period the organization moves to Free.

Whether it follows a failed payment, a cancellation or a refund, a move to Free removes nothing: servers, accounts, sites, mailboxes and backups stay and keep working. What changes is that new resources above the Free limits are refused, and backup data above the new storage quota is kept (only new backups follow the smaller quota). Paying again restores the edition at once.

Cancel any time from the Billing page. The cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you paid for; until then everything keeps working, and you can resume the subscription before that date. A yearly plan is not refunded for the unused months.

30-day money back on your organization’s first Pro subscription: ask within 30 days of the first payment (write to ops@pluspanel.net) and we refund the subscription’s edition charges. The subscription ends at once and the organization moves to Free. Later subscriptions and packages (backup storage, mail relay) are not refunded.

Enterprise customers who run the control plane themselves receive a signed license tied to their subscription. The control plane checks it in daily; an expired license keeps working for 14 days, then the installation moves to Free. A revoked license stays revoked across restarts.
