Migrate from cPanel/WHM

Migration Center moves accounts from a cPanel/WHM server to a PlusPanel server: sites, databases, mailboxes, cron jobs, certificates and DNS. It is free and unlimited in every edition. The full walk-through, with every check it runs, is on Migrate from cPanel; this page is the short version.

  • The source is only read. Nothing is written to the cPanel server and nothing is deleted there, rollback included. The only exception is opt-in: if you allow it, the source’s own DNS zone is edited at cutover.
  • Data goes server to server. Your PlusPanel server pulls files, databases and mail directly from the source; the control plane orchestrates and keeps the reports.
  • Credentials are sealed. The WHM token or SSH key is kept encrypted, sealed for the destination server for each job, never logged, and destroyed when the migration ends.
Access How
WHM API token (preferred) files, databases and mail read through the WHM and cPanel APIs; nothing is written on the source
Root SSH key or password; only read-only commands from a closed list
cpmove archives cPanel full backups given as HTTPS links or uploaded from your browser; the source is not contacted

Before anything is read, you confirm the source’s SSH host key or WHM certificate fingerprint.

  1. Pre-flight report: what will move, what will not, and whether the destination plan has room.
  2. Copy while the source stays live: a first full copy, then incremental passes.
  3. Checks before the switch: pages compared, database rows counted, mail delivered to the new server. A red check blocks the cutover.
  4. Cutover: a last sync, then DNS moves (in PlusPanel DNS, at the source, or by you at your DNS provider).
  5. Checks after the switch, then the account is done. A rollback per account stays possible for 14 days.

Accounts move in waves: a few first, then the rest, so a problem shows up on a small group.
